SPIRITUAL LIFE

A. Spiritual Discipline

1. Each student needs to develop a consistent devotional life. The allotted time for early morning devotion must be spent in quiet meditation before God, being careful not to disturb other students and not to allow other commitments or interest to interfere with one’s meditation. Commuting students are expected to do likewise. Any student may fully make use of the library to read God’s word and to pray alone.

2. During each quarter, a day will be set apart for prayer. All students are required to attend this prayer day for meditation, confession, praise and re-dedication.

3. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, students are grouped for prayer right after morning breakfast. After the third class period, the students should attend the Group devotion on Mondays, Prayer Meeting on Tuesdays, Chapel on Wednesdays, Care and Share on Thursdays and Interest Group on Fridays. Approval for absence must first be obtained from the Dean of Student Affairs.

B. Student Advisers

Faculty members are assigned as advisers for each Care & Share group. Students and advisers will meet periodically for prayer, sharing and fellowship to promote deeper mutual understanding and collective sharing of personal burdens and concern.

C. Counseling

Counseling is available for the students through the Seminary President, the Dean of Student Affairs, faculty advisers and faculty members. Students are encouraged to feel free to contact any of these persons for counseling on personal or spiritual matters or problems in order that such individualized attention may foster spiritual growth and maturity.
