Miscellany
A. Dress Code: The guidelines apply when using the library. Casual attire and slippers may be worn only after 5:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 12:00 noon on Friday.
B. Photocopiers: Photocopying service is available for the convenience of all patrons.
1. Only full-time faculty, administrators and staff members may do their own copying.
2. Residential and non-residential students are to pay PhP400.00 per quarter in advance, the balance is refundable if not completely used.
3. Alumni, pastors, and visitors shall pay upon service to the Library Staff.
4. Standard limit for photocopying is 15% of total number of pages.
5. Written approval is required from the professor for photo-copying a whole book/textbook.
6. Cut-off time for photocopy service at 9:00p.m., Monday to Saturday.
C. Carrels
1. Reserved carrels are available for doctoral or Th. M. students at the Research Room (right partition in Book Stack Area).
2. All other students and patrons may use the carrels in the Reading Area.
3. The carrels are for public use at all times. No personal belongings/books are to be left on the carrels.
D. In House and Telephone Calls
1. The Library Staff shall only accept and relay brief messages if deemed important.
2. Calls are transferred to the lobby intercom (#141).
3. Please advice relatives and friends regarding this policy.
4. BSOP faculty and staff members are requested to comply and refrain from asking to talk with students directly over any in-house intercoms.
E. Cellphones
1. Cellphones are to be on “SILENT” mode while inside the library.
2. Sending messages through text inside the library may be done but calls are to be conducted outside the library.
3. Discipline for violations:
a. First offense, the cell phone shall be confiscated for twenty-four (24) hours;
b. Second offense, the cell phone shall be confiscated and returned before lunchtime on Friday;
c. Third offense, the cell phone shall be returned at the end of the Quarter.
F. Food and Drinks: Food and drinks are strictly forbidden inside the Library. Personal water bottles or teacups may be placed only on the cabinet beside the drinking fountain, not elsewhere.
G. Lost Items: Lost or items left in the Library shall be turned over to the Library Staff where they shall be kept for one week. Unclaimed tems shall be disposed of according to the discretion of the Library Staff.
H. Upon Leaving the Library
1. All users shall take their personal belongings with them when leaving the library.
2. Alumni, pastors, guest researchers and visitors shall deposit their bags with the Library Staff while they are inside the Library.
3. All books which have been used are to be returned to the book carts in the Book Stack and Reading Areas.
I. Emergency Exits:
1. There are two clearly marked “Emergency Exits” in the library, indicated by signs on the doors. Some are locked with keys kept by the Library Staff.
2. The emergency exits are for exit use only. Anyone who opens these doors without just cause shall be fined PhP100.
J. Air conditioners and Lights:
1. Only the Library Staff may switch on and regulate air conditioners.
2. They will also turn on adequate lighting and/or electric fans during the day and night.

Please do not turn on the air-conditioner or change the settings by yourself. Electric fans may be used when air-conditioners are off, but please turn off upon leaving and avoid relocating the fans for your personal convenience.
3. To help cut down electricity costs, avoid using all the lighting fixtures.
K. Meditation Nook: Beside the photocopy machine is an area with cushioned beanbags for reading, meditating, and relaxation. Remove shoes or slippers before entering. Ladies in skirts are advised not to lie down in this area.
L. Sofa: Sofa sets in the Reading Area are for sitting not for napping. Be reminded to take your personal belongings with you when leaving the area.
M. Audio-Visual Room
1. Selected video or cassette tapes may be checked out, or viewed inside the Audio-visual Room.
2. For class use, schedule one day ahead with the Chief Librarian. If there are ten or more viewers, the air-conditioners may be turned on.
3. For church group viewing, the student shall personally check out the tapes and be responsible for them.
4. Student may not borrow for others or leave the tapes in their care.
5. Charges for group viewing is twice the amount for individual viewing. The fees for individual viewing are as follows:

6. Board members, AGST students, non-alumni pastors shall first pay a refundable deposit of PhP 400.00 before being allowed to check out some of the tapes. Upon return of the tapes, the deposit shall be refunded.

N. Using Computers and Printers
1. The Library Staff shall prepare all computers, printers and scanners when the Library opens. The computers shall be off-limits to students from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. and during regulated school activities. Users are not to turn/off computers or UPS or change any setting, or connect laptops to any of the desktop computers in the computer area.
2. Keep the table, keyboard and drawers clean and neat. When using extra chairs, return to its place after use.
3. Anyone desiring to use the computers, online or offline, shall sign up on the sheet at the Service Counter at least half a day earlier. Avoid monopolizing any computers. Users who have signed up have first priority using the computers and may courteously remind other users regarding this priority. Anyone found substituting his name in place of another’s name on the sign-up sheet shall forfeit his privilege for the rest of the day. Personal passwords and file folders shall be assigned to each user by Prof. Dennis Yam.
4. Only Mr. Homer Huang, Rev. Dennis Yam and Prof. Jean Uayan (and the people they assign) may install any educational or technical software into the computers. No one is allowed to install his own programs, nor download from the Internet into any computers.
5. Users who want to print their documents can use the printers located inside the Service Counter area. Ask the Library personnel for assistance.
6. Children of faculty/staff members and students, in elementary or high school levels, may use the computers from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and any time on Saturday. However, they shall give due consideration to other users.
7. Should you hear any unusual beeping sounds from the computers or see anything unusual on the monitors, immediately save your work and report the problem to any of the Library Personnel or to Mr. Homer Huang.
8. Personal laptops shall be turned off and unplugged from wall outlets upon leaving the library for any reason.
9. WI-FI may be used for email or internet browsing. Strictly no chatting, electronic phone calls, or downloading that may affect the connection speed of the whole system.
