Internship

A. Method

The Field Education Department individualizes program and guidance, and relates them with the student’s whole learning and past experiences.

It works with the other departments as well as with the church and parachurch to put into actual services at different church settings theories learned in class. The goal is toward a balanced spiritual growth and harmonious social living with others. Hence, the name student-worker.

B. Schedule/Credit

1. Weekend internship each trimester runs to 12 weeks per trimester.

2. Summer internship is 2 weeks in church conferences and camps, 4 weeks of Provincial assignment.

3. Completion of one trimester internship earns the student one (1) credit of field education; whereas completion of one summer internship will earn him two (2) credits.

C. Training Supervision

1. For weekend internship, the student is assigned to a church or parachurch in Metro Manila or its suburb, where he learns to minister to various age groups. He is supervised by resident pastor(s) or church leader(s) in the local church or parachurch.

2. Summer internship includes two weeks of ministries, in church conferences or camps, such as counseling in organized groups, conducting Daily Vacation Bible Schools, teaching or preaching in training seminars and four weeks internship in Provincial church where on-the-job training in church planting, visitation, personal evangelism and other pastoral works shall be provided.
